#2 . The Great Commission
For the next year, I discovered that all believers were called
to a personal ministry.
In needed to learn to seek the Lords personal call. I defined and assimilated more of God's truths.
Matt. 28:18-20, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing
them . . . teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely
I am with you always even to the very end of the age." ‘The Great Commission’,
suggests that before I teach. I needed to take the time to understand more
of God's commands, so I could obey them before I teach others.
Obedience - As I accepted that I was a disciple, I understood the
importance of obedience. This principle caused me to look at my past issues
that had prevented me from knowing God's will. For instance, when I knew nothing
about the call or purpose, I remained just a convert, I was saved but I was
not seeking or living-out God's will only mine. I was still in my disobedient
flesh life and my continue to enjoy and remain in my sin or seek by faith.
Jesus will be the Judge. Sanctification was unknown at this time.
Chosen Priesthood of All Believers - In the flesh, I ignored truth
because I did not know or want to take the time to seek out if truth existed.
However, now with discipleship I discovered all believers are called to the priesthood
of all believers. As a priest I sought to obey God's Word. I failed too! then I can live, define, and understand
the chosen life He has predestined for me. 2Tim. 1:9 "It is He who saved us
and chose us for His holy work, not because we deserve it but because that
was His plan long before the beginning of the world began--to show his love
and kindness to us through Christ" (The Living Bible). I accepted that I
was chosen, so I made plans to pass discipleship principles onto other believers.
A Royal Priesthood - 1Pt.2:9 "But you are not like that, for you have been
chosen by God himself-you are a priest of the King, you are holy pure, you
are God's very own-all this is so that you may show others how God has called
you out of darkness into his wonderful light" (The Living Bible). Next in
obedience came an attitude during trails and troubles.
Living Sacrifice - Rom. 12:1 "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of
God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living. Sacrifices, holy and pleasing
to God-this are your spiritual act to worship" (NIV). I understood that I
have the responsibility and an opportunity to attempt daily to live holy. I am
to multiply not just add disciples. (E.T.S. Chapter 2)
