His Provision - God provided the Lamb and the
Lamb is Jesus. Jesus provided the promise of victory over shame
and guilt, the way to freedom! .
Rom 8:32 says, 'He who did not spare his own Son, but
gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously
give us all things?' Shame and guilt are defeated by Jesus. He would
rather see us have abundant life, Jn. 10:10. We can now overcome
shame and guilt with Jesus' help.
Shame is reconciled . In John 8:31-32, To the Jews
who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you
are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the
truth will set you free.”
- Belief in Jesus
is primary, the only way.
-
Being a
Disciple
- Disciples
hold on to Jesus' teaching, by faith
- Then the disciple
is set free by the truth
How?
Disciples
- Admit they can
not resolve issue's and trust that Jesus can, then are willing to
-
Submit to the
truths, so shame is resolved as the situation's truth sets us free.
Process: Resolving the shame
As the milk is falling one or more may laugh or be silent.
Both natural and imposed shame will often occur and they need to
be understood.
The natural is resolved as the above example, and
Imposed is resolved by realizing and accepting that the
truth is always right. Imposed shame requires submission to truth,
and truth frees us and overrides any ones accusations.
Also, we do not need to accept judgment from anyone but
the Lord. However, we should not ignore other comments immediately.
We are to assess the viability of the others comments. Finally, moral
shame. We throw the milk down. Often we miss resolving the natural shame,
so shame continues to be overwhelmed by more shame. Shame often recycles
continuously. Only as we deal with shame can we then deal with
guilt.
Guilt is also reconciled . 1 John 1:9,
If we confess our sins, he [Jesus] is faithful and just and will
forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Many people
are living in the bitter fruit of unresolved shame and guilt. However,
once confessed a sin is forgiven, although the shame's message may
continue. However, knowing the truth sets us free, Jn. 8:32.
The truth is that we are absolutely forgiven 1 Jn 1:9. Then we can
seek the best fruit.
